This temporary work was intended to reference geologic time and an implied archaeological dig with its air of discovery and revelation.
The actual mural was painted directly on the wall using acrylic house paint, graphite and colored pencils.
Hand-formed dimensional “shell” forms were created with pit-fired red and white earthenware clay. The overall mural measured approximately, 16’ x 3’. The shell-forms are approximately 8-10” in diameter.
